New Packing Declaration Template as of 20th November 2017

packing declaration templateQuarantine (Department of Agriculture and Water Resources) will published new Packing Declarations and Annual Packing Declarations for all sea-freight shipments entering into Australia.

The old Packing Declarations and Annual Packing Declarations will not be accepted for consignments shipped on or after 1st July 2018.

The Department of Agriculture and Water Resources has aligned the Non Commodity Information Requirements policy and the Non Commodity BICON Case with the import conditions for bamboo packaging. Bamboo packaging is acceptable provided it is treated by an approved method prior to export or on arrival and does not need to be declared as unacceptable packaging. This means that revised consignment specific and annual packing declarations will be implemented on 20 November 2017.

Annual packing declarations containing the ‘Prohibited packaging material’ statement (regardless of their expiry date) will not be accepted for consignments shipped on or after 1st July 2018. As such,  packers and suppliers will be required to reissue their declarations to meet the requirements of the Non-commodity information requirements policy.
